Pomar da Serra means “orchard of the mountain range” and is a place on beautiful property of 33ha forestland in the midst of a natural reserve, overlooking the endless hills of Southern Alentejo. It is near S. Teotónio, Odemira and Zambujeira do Mar, about 25 km from the beautiful beaches on the west coast of Portugal.

Accommodation
Pomar da Serra is in a natural reserve area, the structures we create are low impact on the environment and build from natural materials allowing us to be comfortable and truly connected with nature.
For the activities the main temple is the Dome, that is a 180 m2 circular structure ideal for large groups meditations, with an amazing view from over the hilly landscape and with beautiful sunrises.
For smaller groups the Buddha Temple is a more intimate space that allows silence and comfort surrounded by trees.
We also have the Kid’s Temple where children and teenagers can have their own activities, depending on the event.
Beyond that you can enjoy a natural lake for swimming and beautiful and peaceful spaces to connect, relax and be in balance and harmony. Being in this abundant nature, feeling the earth under the feet and the immense sky above, gives us the sense of inner and outer space.
We offer different accommodation options all cozy with simple decoration and shared bathrooms. We have a 3 bedroom apartment in the main house, 4 adobe cabins as double or single room, a trailer for 2/4 people, Sahara Tents, a simple Yurt for 2/3 people or camping area for tents.
The spaces are all available to rent for retreats or workshops.

About Us
Harida and Nartan have been sannyasins since 1978/79. They lived several years in Osho’s commune in Poona, India, enjoying the silence of his presence and doing his meditations. Harida played during satsang and darshan in the ashram, while Nartan was working in the community kitchen.
In 1980, she got trained in Osho Rebalancing, Holistic Massage, Tibetan Pulsing and Osho Meditations. She worked with these techniques for many years in the Osho center in Hamburg.
In 1995, in Holland, they started their record label Nazca Music for meditative and relaxing music, featuring many of the musicians around Osho.
When they discovered this place in Portugal, in 1997, they envisioned a place for creativity, music and meditation, a place to be with oneself and with others in silence and simplicity. Being in nature makes so easy to go within.
In 2006 they organized the first Osho meditation retreat here on Pomar da Serra, in 2010 the first Osho Festival Portugal with the participation of many Osho musicians.
Beyond the festival, many events occur during the year here in this beautiful land.
